The Leading Others Series (part of the larger ELEVATE Programme) covers three main session topics as described below over the course of 1.5 days.

Enhance your team’s productivity to boost your organisation’s capabilities.

When leading others the real challenge is bringing your team together. Do you have the right training to provide positive feedback and encourage development?

Learn how influencing others and agility in leadership can get everyone contributing productively. Leaders who understand their teams strengths and weaknesses can delegate, direct, coach and support the individuals to success.

1. Building and leading teams

Learn strategies for building great teams and creating successful team dynamics. You will develop skills that enhance communication and trust and align team members around shared goals so they can effectively plan, communicate, execute and deliver.

At the end of this session participants will be able to

•  Discuss a definition of a team
•  Identify and apply the stages of team development
•  Discover behaviours and roles that help build successful teams

2. Influencing others

Every leader needs to be able to engage with people and get their buy-in and approval. Learn to recognise which influencing style is required in different situations and develop strategies to help you achieve the outcome you desire.

At the end of this session participants will be able to

•  Explore influencing definition
•  Discuss the core skills of effective influencers
•  Assess personal influencing approach
•  Compare a range of influencing styles and their effectiveness
•  Introduce storytelling as an influencing approach

3. Feedback for results

Effective feedback is a crucial part of improving individual and team performance. This module focuses on the one-on-one conversations held between managers and their direct reports. You'll get to know your own feedback style and use models to plan and prepare positive developmental and personal feedback.

At the end of this session participants will be able to

•  Define the benefits of feedback
•  Apply the SBI model for giving effective feedback
•  Develop tips for giving more effective feedback on difficult topics
•  Discuss strategies for seeking and receiving feedback
