We are looking forward to a busy year working on initiatives to help your business succeed. Our legal team have commenced more free member briefings, this time on the Employment Relations Amendment Bill. We have just run sessions in Dunedin and Invercargill and will also be doing briefings in Central Otago.

There are some significant changes that are being proposed and we will continue to advocate on your behalf with the new Government and in the media.

A number of Councils in our region are supporting trading for retailers on Easter Sunday. Our Solicitor David Browne updates us on what is happening, and the process that you must follow for your own staff.

We are pleased to announce that we have added four new marketing courses this year. These courses form a natural progression to our core marketing course - Marketing, the Fundamentals.

We have advocated to get the Export Essentials Workshops to come to Dunedin. These courses have been run in other parts of the country and the feedback is very positive. Please support this partially subsidised course so that going ahead we will get more export training opportunities.

Abbie Reynolds from the Sustainable Business Council which is part of BusinessNZ, talks through climate change which is the biggest disruption and opportunity in our lifetime.
